Gardner's Chemical Synonyms & Trade Names Electronic Handbook

For over 65 years, Gardner’s Chemical Synonyms and Trade Names has been the best-known and most widely used source of synonym and trade name information in the field of commercial chemicals. Through nine previous print editions, the international chemical industry has been presented with timely, detailed and relevant information.

Now, for the Tenth Edition, Michael and Irene Ash, known throughout the chemical industry for compiling one of the world’s most advanced chemical product databases, have completely revised and updated all existing information, as well as adding many new and essential details. The result is a giant leap forward in the quality of information for the professional in this area. In addition, and for the first time, Gardner’s is available in a choice of electronic formats.

The Electronic Handbook enables you to navigate through the information using powerful query operators for simple or advanced searches allowing you to: quickly traverse the database (for example, Manufacturers X-Ref can display the jump-to a single manufacturer's products); access every word, phrase, or combination in the reference; jump-to or pop-up trade name chemicals, manufacturers, or regulations.

Gardner’s is divided into three parts:

Part I is an alphabetical listing of over 40,000 synonyms and trade names with extensive cross-referencing to other main entries. Not only does this represent 50% more entries than the previous edition, but for the first time CAS and EINECS identifiers have been included in the entries.

Part II lists 2,900 manufacturers—nearly three times as many as the previous edition—for both trade name and generic chemicals. Also, for the first time Gardner’s now provides full address, telephone, fax, and telex number details wherever possible.

Part III, the Appendices, now contains valuable cross-references for CAS to Trade Name, CAS to Generic Chemical, and EINECS to Generic Chemical. These specialized indexes will bring speed and accuracy to the job of locating products.
