Water Indices!ProTM
Engineers and operators involved in water treatment will want Water Indices!Pro. This program allows users to determine the characteristics and corrosion indices of a water source for various water temperatures, while accounting for the equilibrium of the carbonate buffering system. The initial water characteristics (temperature, TDS, alkalinity, calcium, pH, chloride, sulfate, and magnesium concentrations) for a water source are entered into the Water Indices!Pro. If the source water requires treatment, that may be simulated by using Water!Pro. If the source is to be blended with another water stream, then Water Blending!Pro may be used. This program can help you save valuable time and cost in evaluating water characteristics and corrosion indices simultaneously for two water temperatures as they apply to water treatment processes and corrosion control. This versatile, time-saving tool can help you:
- Automatically determine water stability indices for a source water
(Calcium Carbonate ppPrecipitation Potential, Saturation Index, Langelier
Index, Aggressive Index, Larson Ratio, Ryznar Index, aaand Buffer Index)
for relative solids such as calcite, aragonite, and vaterite
- Automatically determine dissolve inorganic carbon (DIC) and carbon
dioxide concentrations
- Automatically calculates acidity, ionic strength, and electrical
conductivity
- Automatically adjust values for evaluating various water temperatures
- Perform desktop evaluations of primary corrosion control strategies
- Features:
Measures the impact of change in pH and corrosion indices for a water
stream for various water tttemperatures
- Calculations in corrosion indices are based on user option of calcite,
aragonite, or vaterite
- Considers ion complexing, ion pairing, thermodynamics, activity coefficient,
and more for precise ccalculations

Water Indices!Pro is on the cutting edge of water treatment which a portion of this program was presented at the Water Quality Technical Conference in San Diego in November 1998, sponsored by the American Water Works Association (AWWA).
