The Electronic Handbook of Optical Constants of Solids ("HOC")
takes the highly praised 5 Volume set, Handbook of Optical Constants, to
a new level of "Information Mining" with seamless integration of dynamic
data tables, 2D and 3D displays, property calculations, and technical information.
The program is designed for material scientists, spectroscopists, and optical
device designers working with dielectric materials, including metals, semi-conductors,
and insulators.
HOC Features

Database Pathways.
"Materials" leads directly to all optical data and information on a selected
material (e.g., CdS). In "Periodic Table", click on one or more elements
and find all materials and associated optical data containing these elements.
"Thermo-optical Coefficients" goes directly to Sellmeier coefficients of
materials. "Optical Parameters" brings materials for which optical parameters
are available. Pathways utilize more than 2,000 tables of compiled optical
constants (refractive index, extinction coefficients, and Sellmeier coefficients)
for 143 key materials.

Data Representation
Tools. Convenient tools to select & view data fields,
references, sort & colorize specific data, and compile data into one
table from different sources using the HOC table Wizard.

Extensive
Graphics. Ability to compare, view, and analyze data
from different sources in 2D and 3D graphs. Full zoom, axis tracking of
values in 2D plots, tailor data curves, and fast manipulation of 3D graphs.

Calculation
Pathways. Point and click to compute transmittance, polarizability,
or refractive index and extend the range of experimental values or interpolate
between experimental data points with use of well know algorithms and sophisticated
interpolation techniques.

Pathways. Seamless presentation of technical information
on materials is a hallmark of the HOC, be it experimental techniques, basic
dielectric theory, or critiques on materials. It's there when you want
it.
