Response Factor
Although flame ionization detector response is generally proportional to
the mass of carbon present in a sample, hetero atoms and various functional
groups affect the response to varying degrees. This program will predict
response factors from molecular structure. The predictions are based on
the multi-linear correlation equation originally developed for a set of
some 150 individual structures and has been further refined to account
for constitutional, topological and electrostatic properties. The program
utilizes four standard formats including: MDL Molefiles, Hyperchem's HIN,
SYBOL MOL and MOPAC/AMPAC output file format. (Requires Windows 3.1, 95,
98 or NT and a program that generates one of the above file formats such
as Molecular Modeling Pro).
