Radioactive Decay Calculator
Using this program is probably the easiest way to calculate radioactive
decay. Simply click on an element on the live periodic table for a list
of isotopes of that element. Click again on the on the isotope of interest
and you're off and running. The isotope is automatically listed on a setup
window. Now you can enter the activity, select the units, enter the time
and select the time units. The calculator will accept up to 40 nuclides
simultaneously for calculation. All of the daughter nuclides are automatically
tracked and the program combines them from different chains and from different
source nuclides. A list of concentrations corresponding to the decay time
you set is then reported. Up to 200 source and daughter nuclides in the
result can be reported. The program will track the decay chain all of the
way to stable byproducts for each of the almost 500 radionuclides included
in the data base. Features: Capability to handle up to 40 parent nuclides;
Capability to handle up to 200 combined parents and daughters; Decay Corrects
(works with negative decay times); Automatically compensates for branching
and convergent parents; Maps Decay Chains to Stable isotopes; Plots Radioactive
Decay for up to 5 isotopes in two plot formats (linear and semi-log); Include
a feature to Calculate the time interval from time and date input; Extensive
User Help Facility; Saves and Retrieves case setup data. (Requires Windows
3.1, 95, 98 or NT).
