IsoPointTM
Now you can let your computer calculate the isoelectric point of a molecule
that contains both acidic and basic substituents by using IsoPoint. The
program uses a derivation of the Henderson-Hasselbalch equation and a binary
search routine to quickly calculate the isoelectric point. The equation
calculates the charge on the molecule and the search routine finds the
pH that produces a net zero charge. Included is a small, customizable database
to make it easy to enter the acidic or basic substituents. (Requires Windows
3.1, 95, 98 or NT).
