Advanced Windows software
The software has been designed to take maximum advantage of the operating
system installed on your workstation, be it the traditional 16 bit Microsoft
Windows 3 family, or the new 32 bit Windows 95 / NT family.
Advanced Data Capture
TurboGEL Plus uses the industry standard PE Nelson TurboChrom workstation
to digitize the chromatogram with the highest levels of resolution and
fidelity, and from up to 16 detectors per workstation. Data sampling rates
that cover three orders of magnitude and software selected voltage input
ranges allow TurboChrom to work with HRGC, CE, HPLC, GC, IC, and GPC /
SEC.
Advanced Printing
On-screen, "White Paper", reports equivalent to the printed paper output
has reduced the printing requirements to an absolute minimum. But if you
need hard copy, then any Windows printer that supports graphical output
is compatible with this software, either connected directly to the TurboGEL
Plus workstation, or via a network connection.
Advanced Networking
TurboGEL Plus, just like TurboChrom, is fully compatible with industry
standard networks, allowing the user to acquire the chromatogram on a laboratory
PC, store the data files on a Server, and process on any Windows 3 or Windows
95 client.
The cutting edge in GPC / SEC software
· Narrow, Integral and Broad calibration
· Sophisticated calibration curve fitting
· Comprehensive molecular weight calculations
· On-line or interactive data analysis
· Graphical optimization of integration and reporting
· User programmable for specialist requirements
· Multi-detector capability
· Compensation for flow rate variations
· Microsoft Windows 3 / 95 / NT MDI compliant application
Calibration Methods
The data analysis method can be calibrated using these recognized methodologies
:
Narrow Standard Methods
· Multi-linear correlation
· Universal correlation using Mark Houwink or Intrinsic Viscosity
factors
· Spline correlation using a 3rd order fit
· Linear and Quadratic regressions
· Polynomial regressions correlation using a 1st to 9th order
fit
Broad Standard Methods
· Integral Distribution
· Hamielec
· Multiple Broad
The interactive calibration editor enables a quick and accurate review of the calibration table, with full spreadsheet style editing of the correlation parameters.
The on-line calibration mode enables the automated update of the method’s calibration curve in unattended runs.
Interactive Optimization
Full graphical manipulation of the GPC / SEC chromatogram, coupled
with mouse activated zoom-in, zoom-out, and baseline fit enable the accurate
setting of integration events.
As optimizations to the methodology are made, a simultaneously displayed GPC / SEC report preview screen is updated in real time.
This interactive data analysis mode facilitates the construction of routine GPC / SEC methods for unattended, real-time operation, and also provides the user with the ability to graphically review and optimize post-run any number of samples where necessary.
Molecular Weight Distributions and Averages
The high computing performance of modern PC workstations has enabled
us to implement full 32 bit precision mathematics throughout the software,
essential for the correct calculation of the molecular weight profiles.
TurboGEL Plus provides the following molecular weight information :
· Mp, Mn, Mw on a peak by peak basis
· Mn, Mw, Mz, Mv of the complete sample
· Polydisperisty (Mw/Mn) by peak and sample
· Molecular weight distribution profiles
· Log molecular weight distribution profiles
· Cumulative molecular weight and log molecular weight profiles
Above, Below, and Between Calculations
In addition to the calculated molecular weight profile information
and the "raw" slice by slice data, TurboGEL Plus has the ability to produce
information on the distribution of the sample above, below and or between
user set molecular weight limits.
This option solves a number of common requirements such as reporting the percentage of the sample below 1000 molecular weight units.
"White Paper" Screen Reports
TurboGEL Plus uses our latest technology "White Paper" pre-view screen
to display the whole report, on-screen, in an easy to read format identical
to the printed paper copy. Both the method and the calibration curve are
also available as "White Paper" reports.
Optimization of the report, through these "White Paper" pre-views enables the reports you produce to be concise, single page combinations of graphics and data, or comprehensive multiple page reports.
The formatting of these "White Paper" reports is an integral part of the TurboGEL Plus data analysis method, enabling unattended automated reporting in exactly the style you need.
User Programmability
Both in real-time and as part of an interactive session, TurboGEL Plus
allows the GPC / SEC report, together with the slice by slice data, to
be stored in a standard electronic format.
This data is immediately available for on-line reduction with other programs, such as the transfer of results to LIMS, plotting molecular weight data in control charts, exporting selected data to a spreadsheet package, or applying your own computer program to the data.
