This browser-based tutorial is a workshop for exploration of laboratory information management (LIMS). Available technology, implementation strategy, key features to consider, laboratory productivity gains expected, risks involved and problems to consider are all presented. The user can select the level and depth of information they require including topics as broad as "What is a LIMS" to specific topics such as "Return on Investment" worksheets. The program is designed for all levels of laboratory professionals including technicians, managers, directors, and information managers. LIMS Insight runs locally on the PC and does not require an internet connection. If you are planning to purchase a new LIMS or upgrade your current one, this program will save you hundreds of hours of planning! (Requires Windows 3.1, 95, 98 or NT and NetScape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer)
