UV Max Estimate^TM

This program estimates the ultraviolet maximum wavelength for chemical compounds. UVMAX estimate is based on the Fieser-Woodward rules of additive UV absorptions for various transitions of neighboring bonds to estimate the UV maximum. Simply select the compound type, parent structure, solvent, substituents, and the positions of attachment and the maximum wavelength is estimated. An excellent tool for confirming an unknown structure after synthesis or isolation. (Requires Windows 3.1, 95, 98 or NT).
